Wolftank Group helps develop hydrogen-powered drone with extended flight time

Wolftank Group, in cooperation with the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, FEN Research GmbH and Twins GmbH, is engaged in an EU-funded project aimed at extending the flight time of hydrogen-powered drones.

Current drone platforms mainly use LiPo batteries as a power source. However, these devices do not have the capacity for long flight times. In this context, hydrogen-powered drones are already an excellent solution to significantly enhance their flight duration.

Wolftank Group’s hydrogen experts are contributing to this innovative project, which focuses on the development of a hydrogen-powered drone with lightweight construction and a novel spherical hydrogen tank design. These upgrades will result in improvements such as increased flight duration, altitude and efficiency. The state-of-the-art drones will have very useful applications such as search flights for firefighting or the transport of medicines.

Once again, Wolftank demonstrates its commitment to innovation by enhancing green mobility in all areas – now also in the field of drones.
